While couch-bound following major compound fractures to lower left leg, torn sydesmotic ligaments & surgery to install titanium cables in my leg, I was watching some movie on Encore. A cheerful tune came on... a spark. Pausing the movie, I sketched out 80% of this ditty in about 12 minutes. Looking at it the next day I finessed and finished it - entitling it "Walking on a Sunny Street." A strange choice with shattered leg in the midst of an endless winter in the US Heartland, but... following 4.5 months of being bound to cast, boot, wheelchair, walker, crutches & grueling PT, I started "walking" 2 weeks ago. Today for the first time, I walked unaided the entire day... in the Sun! It is so grand to be among the upright again! ; )
Thanks to all who assisted me in my healing - through thoughts, prayers, "white-light", kindess, advice and to those on US West Coast for much assistnace in schlepping my stuff around during my tour in May & June!
Recorded in San Francisco in May 2011 with Ted Saverese as producer and playing the lead line. Photo is of me playing the "bass" line on guitar.
